In the all-time classic movie The African Queen, two diametrically opposed people find themselves thrown together in the war torn African jungle during World War I. The two central characters include Charlie Allnut who is the skipper of a small river boat named The African Queen and Rose Sayer who is in Africa as a missionary with her father. After the Germans burn down the missionary and kill Rose's father, Charlie happens across the burned-out remains and rescues Rose. After some discussion, Rose decides that she wants to destroy a German gunboat but to do so she needs to enlist the help of Charlie who reluctantly agrees. Surviving malaria, insects, leeches and the persistent conflict of their personalities, they share victory and tender romance in this classic action-adventure movie. Starring Humphrey Bogart, Katherine Hepburn and Robert Morley among others. Fullscreen in color. Released in 1951. Runtime 104 minutes.
