The book, The Civil War Day By Day, represents a chronological review of what took place from the approach of war through the 1861 - 1865 war itself and ending with the reconstruction era.  It is very apparent in reviewing this era in a chronological manner that most of the events happening on land, on sea, in Washington D.C. and in Richmond were more often than not occurring independently from one another.  This book includes over 350 illustrations,  black and white period photographs and maps which collectively give the reader an overview of the personalities, passions and activities that molded what is now the American nation.  This book is 224 pages and is in very good condition with a repaired split in the right edge of the front dust cover.  The editor for this book is John S. Bowman with an introduction by Henry Steele Commager.  Edition published in 1989.
