The movie, The Dam Busters, is a British film based on a novel of the same name by Paul Brickhill.  This gritty docudrama depicts the famous Ruhr Air Raid by British R.A.F. Lancaster Bombers from the initial drawing board to the actual raid on May 17th, 1943.  During World War II the British general staff decide to form an elite group of bomber pilots for the express purpose of attacking German Dams in the Ruhr Valley in the hopes of severely disrupting the Nazi industrial heartland.  In order to carry this plan out, the R.A.F. ends-up developing a special purpose five-ton bomb that can only be carried by their heaviest bomber and must be drop while the aircraft is flying at 200 m.p.h. and at an elevation of 60 feet.  This movie is the original un-cut British version and has been hailed by critics as among the greatest World War II films of all time.  Starring Richard Todd, Michael Redgrave and Ursula Jeans among others.  Full screen in black and white.  Released in 1954.  Runtime 125 minutes.
