The movie, The Devil's Brigade, is a fictitious story of an American officer tasked with the thankless job of creating a fit commando troop from a gaggle of down-and-dirty Canadian and American misfits.  As this group is completing their training, the original mission they were brought together for is cancelled.  After a short visit to Washinton D.C. to confer with the commanding general, the American officer and his men are given a new mission fighting the Germans in the Italian Alps.  Aside from the interesting characters,  this film has some great mountain battle seens which make the movie worth wathcing.  Starring William Holden, Cliff Robertson and Vince Edwards among others.  Widescreen in color.  Released in 1968.  Runtime 133 minutes.
