The Green Berets is represents one of the earliest films about the combatants in the Vietnam War. Representing an Admittedly pro-interventionist perspective, this movie takes place at the height of the fighting and was filmed along the genre of WW II films. The drama depicts a gung-ho colonel, John Wayne, as he battles the Viet Cong, trys to protect innocent civilians, reforms a liberal newspaperman and adopts an orphaned boy. This film is a natural counter weight to the many anti-Vietnam films that followed. Starring John Wayne, David Janssen, Jim Hutton and Patrick Wayne among others. Widescreen in color.
