The movie, The Heroes Of Telemark, is an action- adventure, espionage story set in Norway during World War II.  The plot of this movie centers on British intelligence discovering that the Germans are producing  at a plant in Norway, "heavy water" for use in the manufacturing of an atom bomb.  A plan is put together which involves Knut Straud a leading figure in the Norwegian underground working with Dr. Rolf Pederson and British intelligence to destroy the plant in order to prevent the Nazi's from making a critical ingredient for production of an atom bomb.  Although Straud and Pederson were originally only suppose to infiltrate the factory as a reconnaissance force while awaiting a British commando team, they end-up having to destroy the plant and sinking a freighter which contains a load of "heavy water" alone.  This movie was inspired by a true story.  Starring Richard Harris, Kirk Douglas and Michael Redgrave among others.  Full screen in color.  Released in 1965.  Runtime 131 minutes.
