Based on the Tom Clancy's action- adventure novel, the movie, The Hunt For Red October, is full of high-tech excitement and with the tension of men who potentially hold Doomsday in their hands.  The plot centers on a technologically-superior Soviet Submarine, The Red October, that is heading for the United States coast under the command of their most senior Russian Captain Marko Ramius.  The American government thinks that the Red October is on a mission to launch missiles off the Eastern American seaboard but a lona C.I.A. analyst thinks that the Soviet Captain may be trying to defect and in so doing hand over this new top-secret submarine to the Americans.  In the end, the C.I.A. analyst is given only several days to confirm the Soviet Captain's intentions.  This is a heart thumping, action-adventure movie in the finest tradition of author Tom Clancy.  Starring Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin and Scott Glenn among others.  Full screen in color.  Released in 1991.  Runtime 127 minutes.
