The movie, The Messenger, takes place in France in 1429 and centers on a peasant girl from a remote village who hears voices from God telling her she can help her King regain all the territory lost to invading armys if he provides her with the soldiers to do so.  The Messenger is in fact the famous Joan Of Arc who initially finds success on the battlefiled only to be eventually captured, tried as a heretic and executed at the age of nineteen.  This startling epic drama explores the life of Joan Of Arc, her amazing victories, relationship with God and ultimately her tragic death.  In the end this movie is a modern take on a medieval saint who enthralls people even today.  Starring Milla Jovovich, Dustin Hoffman and Faye Dunaway among others.  Full screen in color.  Released in 1999.  Runtime 148 minutes.
