The movie, The Shootist, focuses on the last of the legendary gunfighters, John Bernard Brooks who is afflicted with a terminal illness.  The gunman quitly returns to Carson City to seek out medical attention from his old friend Dr. Hosteller.  Aware that his days are numbered, the sick man seeks solace and peace in a boarding house run by a widow and her son.  Unfortunately for Brooks, it is not his fate to die in peace as he becomes caught-up in one last gun-fight.  Starring John Wayne, Lauren Bacall and Jimmy Stewart among others.  Widescreen in color.  Released in 1976.  Runtime 98 minutes.
