In the movie, The Sons Of Katie Elder, the mother Katie Elder has just passed away and her four sons have come home to pay their last respects.  The eldest son is the toughest son and also a gunslinger.  The next oldest Tom, is good with a deck of cards and good with a gun when he needs to be.  The third oldest son Matt, is the quiet one but when provoked can use a gun as well.  The youngest son Bud, is perhaps the best hope for the family to gain some respectability.  The older brothers want him to stay away from guns and to go to school so he can get a decent job.  This Western movie has a dual theme in that it is both a "he-mans" story and a drama of the maternal influence of Katie Elder, movingly played from beginning to end.  Starring John Wayne, Dean Martin and Earl Holliman among others.  Full screen in color.  Released in 1965.  Runtime 122  minutes.
