The St. Valentine's Day Massacre which occurred in Chicago, Illinois on February 14, 1929 is perhaps the most well-known organized gang murder to take place during the 20th Century. This event which comes at the end of the movie, The St. Valentine's Day Massacre, occurred as a result of a rift between Al Capone who controlled organized crime in most of Chicago and Bugs Moran who ran organized crime in North Chicago. These crime figures settled "turf" battles not through negotiation but rather through the use of guns and violence. This vivid recreation of the events that led up to and include the actual massacre effectively evoke the gritty realism that brings to life the menace of crime's biggest names in Chicago during the 1920s. This film, in all its gore, traces the bullet-punctuated cempetition between Capone and Moran carefully building towards its explosive climax the massacre itself. Starring Jason Robards, George Segal and Ralph Meeker among others. Full screen in color. Released in 1967. Runtime 100 minutes.
