The movie, The Steel Helmet, is considered by many to be a cult classic centered on a United States Army Sergeant fighting in the Korean War.  Early on in this film, the sergeant barely survives an enemy ambush and in so doing becomes a man focused on safely returning to American lines.  Along the way, he befriends a local Korean boy, as well as, a platoon of lost American Army soldiers who are being lead by an inexperienced officer.  The group eventually seek refuge in a Buddist Temple but find that even there they are not safe as a lone North Korean Soldier who is also hiding there kills one of the American Soldiers.  Eventually they dwindle in number as they fight off a determined North Korean effort to capture or kill them.  This movie is a "gritty", no nonsense look at the daily challenges and heartships facing American foot soldiers fighting in a far-off land called Korea.  This action movie, directed by legendary Director Samuel Fuller, is difficult to find but well worth watching and is sure to please anyone interested in this genre of film.  Starring Gene Evans, Robert Hutton and Steve Brodie among others.  Full screen in black and white.  Runtime 84 minutes.
