The movie, The Wolfman, is the orginal horror classic that introduced audiences to one of the screen's most infamous monters.  The film's plot centers on a man named Larry Talbot who has just returned to his father's ancient castle in Wales.  Talbot he soon meets the beautiful daughter of a local village shopkeeper.  On a subsequent fateful night, Talbot escorts her and her friend Jenny to a local carnival where they meet a mysterious gypsy fortune teller.  Soon Jenny's fate is confirmed when she is attacked by a vicious wolf.  Talbot tries to save Jenny and his date by clubing the wolf to death with his silver-handled cane but in the process is badly bitten by the wolf.  Talbot recovers but comes to realize that the curse of the werewolf has been passed on to him.  Foggy atmospheres, elaborate setting and a chilling musical score all serve to enhance this haunting classic horror tale.  Starring Claude Rains, Ralph Bellamy and Lon Chaney among others.  Full screen in black and white.  Released in 1941.  Runtime 70 minutes.
