The German Tiger heavy tank was designed in the late 1930s and deployed first in 1942 to effectively counter the improving Allied armor including Russian T-34 medium and Stalin heavy tanks in combat on the Eastern Front.  The Tiger represented a new approach to German tank design philosopy in that the focus was clearly on armor and armament at the expense of mobility and speed.  Its main armament was the highly effective 88 mm high velocity cannon.  Despite some early "teething" problems, the Tiger proved to be a formidable weapon and was believed by many to be one of the best heavy German tanks from World War II.  This older, out-of-production model of the German Tiger heavy tank includes the following: 1) A traversing turrent and elevating gun; 2) Detailed road wheels with seperate suspension arms and 3)  Single piece flexible rubber type tracks.  The box is in investment quality condition.  Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
