As the 20th century ended, HMS Titanic was the most notorious ship ever to have been built and taken to the sea. The tragic sinking of the HMS Titanic on April 15, 1912 after hitting an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean during her maiden voyage has captivated every generation since. While many films have been made concerning the sinking of the HMS Titanic, James Cameron's movie, "Titanic" became a blockbuster movie grossing $1.8 billion, a sure indication of the lasting interest in this tragic tale. While much is known about the HMS Titanic little has been written about her sister ships, the HMS Olympic and Britannic. Together these three ships represented the largest and most luxurious ocean liners of their day. Ironically, after the sinking of the HMS Titanic, the HMS Britannic, which carried many modifications to the original Olympic Class specification was lost just a year after entering service as a result of hitting a mine during World War I. Only the HMS Olympic went on to serve a full operational career. The book, Titanic & Her Sisters Olympic & Britannic, represents a definitive account of these three beautiful ships and details their stories from the events that shaped their construction to the 1985 discovery and subsequent recovery of artifacts from the HMS Titanic wreck. "Titanic & Her Sisters Olympic & Britannic" also reviews the many movies that have centered on the sinking of the HMS Titanic.
