The movie, To Kill A Mockingbird, is a film masterpiece that centers on a respected white Southerm lawyer who defends a black man wrongfully accused of rape.  This movie is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name.  This movie is considered a classic film do to the way in which it captures a time, a place and above all, a common mood from the past.  The setting is a dusty Southern town during the Great Depression.  Against this backdrop, a white woman accuses a black man of rape even though the man is obviously innocent.  Despite this, the outcome to the trial in this era is a forgone conclusion and because of this only one local lawyer will step forward to defend the wrongfully accused man.  His compasionate defense costs him many friendships but earns him the respect and admiration of his two children.  Starring Gregory Peck, Mary Badham and Phillip Alford among others.  Full screen in color.  Released in 1962.  Runtime 129 minutes.
