The film, Touring Civil War Battlefields, reviews the following actual American Civil War Battlefields: 1) Manassas / First And Second Bull Run (July 21, 1861 & August 29, 1862); 2) Antietam (September 17, 1862); 3) Fredericksburg (December 13, 1862); 4) Gettysburg (July 1 - 3, 1863 and 5) Surrender At Appomattox Court House (April 9, 1865). This film examines these five actual battlefields and relives the story behind each conflict as thousands reenact the battles. Historically important battlefield locations and buildings are visited like Burnside's Bridge, Bloody Lane and Appomatox Court House where the solemn surrender took place. This emotionally charged video is an accurate portrayal of the heroic soldiers who fought for the Blue and Gray. In the end, the viewer is left to reflect on these battles and the tragic chapter in American history known as the Civil War. Note: this video comes in a plastic, hard-shell case. Directed by Rolf Forsberg. Full screen in color. Released in 1992. Runtime 60 minutes.
