The publication, Trains - July, 1946, was one of the earlier post World War II issues published.  Already evident is the lifting of various restrictions in terms of the number of pages per issue, the use of colored ink and the unfettered publishing of as many issues as could be sold.  The July 1946 issue of "Trains" included the following articles: 1) Railroad News and Editorial Comment; 2) Susquehanna: Small road makes good with Diesel power by Wallace W. Ashley; 3) Memoirs of Engine No. 38: A fantasy on an old locomotive by John Page; 4) Remember Snow? Photograph; 5) Mount Robson on the CNR: A kodachrome reproduction; 6) Denver Streamliner: Comfortable riding takes you to some of the finest Rocky Mountain playgrounds by Roy G. Clark; 7) On the Reading: Photoseries by Norman H. Cooper; 8) Hopper Cars by Stephen Bogart; 9) Circus Trains: It was railroading that made the big shows by Charles P. Fox and 10) Railroad Mail.  In addition to informative articles, "Trains - July, 1946" includes the following features: 1) Approximately 60 black and white photographs; 2) 1 color photograph; 3) About 12 black and white illustrations; 4) 4 color illustrations and 5) 3 maps.   Beyond the above referenced articles, "Trains" includes many railroad related advertisements which gives the reader an indication of how important the railroad industry was to the overall health of the American economy in 1946.  This publication is 55 pages and is in excellent condition.  The authors are identified by article.  Edition published in July 1946.
