 This two video set includes two of the most famous  pirate films ever produced, Treasure Island and the sequel Long John Silver.  The movie, Treasure Island, is based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classics chidrens pirate adventure.  The plot centers on a young boy named Jim Hawkins who has always been intrigued by the sea and when given the chance to test his curiosity does so by signing on as a cabin boy on a search for fortune on Treasure Island along with a group of experienced sea men including the one legged Captain Long John Silver.  The search for fortune on Treasure Island proves to much for the crew, many of whom are former pirates, and as a result most become mutineers against the ship's captain.  In the end, this classic movie represents and inspiring tale of courage and strength that is sure to appeal to the entire family. Starring Kim Burfield and Orson Wells aomng others.  Full screen in color.  Released in 1950.  Runtime 95 minutes.  In the sequel movie to Treasure Island, the film Long John Silver takes the viewer on another fascintaing journey through the world of pirates, gold and unforegiving seas.  In this movie, another trip is undrtaken in order to find lost treasure.  Jim Hawkins is again placed in the thick of things as Long John Silver professes to wanting to help the Royal Governor find his daughter who has been kidnapped for ransom by a rogue group of pirates.  While Long John Silver searches for the governor's lost daughter, he is also continuing his search for lost treasure using a necklace that Jim Hawkins was previously given.  In the 18th century, there is no one more courageous than a man who rules the sea and for Jim Hawkins, there is no place he would rather be.  While the theme of Long John Silver is very similar to the earlier film, Treasure Island, it is still well worth atching if you are at all interested in this genre of film.  Starring Robert Newton, Connie Gilchrist and Kit Taylor among others.  Full screen in color.  Released in 1954.  Runtime 104 minutes.
