The movie, True Grit. centers on a druken, uncouth, one-eyed U.S. marshal Rooster Cogburn who is hired by a young girl to kill the man who murdered her father and stole the family "nest egg".  The girl has one stipulation which is to accompany Rooster on his quest.  Marshal Cogburn is not happy about this arrangement but allows her and a Texas Ranger who wants to tag along to cash in on the reward, to ride with him.  Laughter and tears are alternately part of the action as this odd threesome form a reluctant bond.  Starring John Wayne, Glen Campbell and Kim Darby among others.  Full screen in color.  Runtime 128 minutes.  Release date 1969.
