The United States Congress passed a bill, in 1794, authorizing the construction of six frigates to protect American Rights and Property.  Only the 36 gun Constellation, as well as, the 44 gun Constitution and United States warships were ever completed.  The Constellation was built by David Stodder in Baltimore, Maryland and it was launched on September 7, 1795.  Leon D. Polland, Chief Of Construction and Repair was placed in charge of restoring the Constellation which was to be permanently berthed in Baltimore after visiting a number of ports in the United States.  This older, out-of-production, model of the U.S.S. Constellation includes the following features: 1) Brown plastic hull, decking, masts and rigging; 2) Brown plastic display stand; 3) White full billowing sails and 4) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in excellent condition.  Never opened and factory sealed.
