The book, Uniforms Illustrated No. 2: The Modern British Soldier, represents a concise but authoritative pictorial study of the many different uniforms, together with the details of badges of rank, regiment and formation worn by British Soldiers in the early 1980s. "The Modern British Soldier" places an emphasis on uniforms and equipment. The book depicts many aspects of the British Army from routine weapons training to action on the streets of Belfast, Ireland and from practice exercises to victory in the Falkland Island war fought in 1982. While most of the photographs included in this book are credited to file pictures from the British Ministry of Defense Public Relations Department, a number have been provided by several freelance photographers. Some of these photographs are rare operational and "in-action" views while others depict some of the more unusual aspects of military life. In addition to informative picture captions, this book includes the following features: 1) Approximately 113 black and white photographs and 2) About 16 color photographs. This book is sure to appeal to both the military enthusiast and to the modeler alike. This book is 72 pages and is in very good condition. The author is Simon Dunstan. Edition published in 1984.
