The Vickers Fighting Biplane number 5 which is more commonly referred to as simply the "Gun Bus" had the distinction of being the first British aircraft to equip an entire front line squadron with a single type.  In the early years of World War I up through the 1915 - 1916 period, it was a solid counter to the so called "Fokker Scourge" over the Western European battlefields.  Although it soldiered on throughout the remainder of the war, its days were numbered in terms of effectiveness with the advent of the second generation of "Centrist" fighters that could fire their machine guns through the propeller arch.  This limited run kit includes the following white metal detail parts: struts; engine; engine mounts; and skids.  Also, included are authentic British decals for two different versions.
