The movie, Von Ryan's Express, is the story of United States combat pilot Colonel Joseph Ryan who is shot down and captured in Italy during World War II.  Initially, Ryan is more concerned with surviving then escaping, earning him the nickname "Von" Ryan.  In time, however, Von Ryan takes over the plotting of an escape from the British Officer in charge of their prison camp and masterminds a daring race across Italy to Switzerland via a commandeered Nazi train.  The German's are only one step behind as Von Ryan leads his fellow prisoners to freedom.  This movie version includes the original theatrical trailer.  Starring Frank Sinatra, Trevor Howard and Wolfgang Preiss among others.  Widescreen in color.  Released in 1965.  Runtime 116 minutes.
