This Water Line Series Royal Naval Plane kit includes the following scaled plastic models as flown by the Royal Navy during World War II: 1) Supermarine Seafire; 2) Grumman F4F Wildcat; 3) Vought F4U-1 Corsair and 4) Fairey Swordfish.  The Supermarine Seafire was the naval version of the very successful Supermarine Spitfire made famous during the Battle of Britain.  The Seafire served primarily aboard Royal Navy and Royal Canadian Navy aircraft carriers during World War II.  The Grumman F4F Wildcat, which represented the main fighter aboard American aircraft carriers early in World War II also served aboard Royal Navy carriers where it was called the Martlet.  While the F4F Wildcat became obsolete by the mid part of World War II, it continued to serve on smaller American and British escort aircraft carriers throughout the remainder of the war.  The Vought F4U-1 Corsair was one of the more modern American fighters designed and built to replace among other aircraft, the Grumman F4F Wildcat.  The F4U Corsair served in the United States Navy and Marine corps along with the Royal Navy along with the navies of other Commonwealth countries.  The F4U was so adaptable that it could be used in the role of a pure fighter or alternatively a fighter-bomber.  The F4U went on to serve during the Korean War, waged between 1950 and 1953.  The Fairey Swordfish, a torpedo-carrying biplane, was already obsolete at the start of World War II.  That said it was forever made famous for its role in helping to sink the German Battleship Bismark.   This Water Line Series Royal Navy Plane kit includes parts to assemble eight each of the Supermarine Seafire, Grumman F4F Wildcat, Vought F4U-1 Corsair and the Fairey Swordfish.  These aircraft models come complete with authentic Royal Navy markings and are molded in dark gray and light blue colored plastic.  An accurate color-painting guide is also provided on the back of the model box.  The size of these models allows them to be used in dioramas featuring 1/700-scale ship kits.  The box is in very good condition.  Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
