The Vickers Wellington was a British twin-engine, medium bomber designed in the mid-1930s by Vickers-Armstrongs' Chief Designer, R.K. Pierson. It was widely used as a night-time bomber in the early years of World War II and was later replaced by the larger, four-engined heavy bombers such as the Avro Lancaster. The Wellington did serve throughout the remainder of the war mainly as an anti-submarine aircraft. As a note of distinction, it was the only British bomber to be produced throughout the entire war. This older, out-of-prodcution "Wellington Mk. X kit is quality engineered in three colors. Authentic decals are included for the following three aircraft: 1) Wellington Mk. X No. 428 "Ghost" Squadron, R.C.A.F. Dalton, Yorkshire, April, 1943; 2) Wellington Mk. X No. 300 (Polish) Squadron, R.A.F. Hemswell, Lincolnshire, March, 1943 and 3) Wellington Mk. XIV No: 179 Squadron, R.A.F. Coastal Command, Gibralter, 1943. Also, included in this kit are detailed instructions and a display stand. The box is in excellent condition with original tape on the ends to seal the package. Never started and factory sealed.
