The Westland HU-5 Wessex represented a British evolution of the United States Sikorsky H-34 Helicopter. It was developed for the Royal Navy towards the late 1950s to create a modern anti-submarine aircraft. The most radical and important modification was the change over from the original piston engine to a turbine propulsion engine. This change made the HU-5 Wessex more versatile and reliable. This Westland HU-5 Wessex helicopter includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for a HU-5 Wessex operated by the 847th Squadron, Royal Navy, Malaysia 1969 and another flown by the 772th Squadron, Royal Navy, HMS London, Flight 1981; 2) Clear plastic cockpit and fuselage glass areas; 3) Detailed cockpit; 4) Detailed landing gear; 5) Painting guide in color and 6) Illustrated assembly instructions. The box is in like-new condition. Never started and factory sealed.
