The British Whirlwind was a small, twin engine heavy fighter built by the Westland Aircraft company. It was one of the fastest aircraft when it first flew in the late 1930s and was much more heavily armed then its contemporaries. Despite a promising future, protracted Rolls-Royce Peregrine engine development problems delayed the luanch of the entire program which resulted in only two R.A.F. squadrons being equipped with the type. Although it was quite successful as a fighter bomber both on land and against shipping targets, all copies of the type were withdrawn from frontline service by 1945. This kit includes authentic R.A.F. markings, detailed instructions and two after-market cast scaled engines by Rider. Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
