
The book, What Did You Do in WWII Grandpa?, tells the true story of Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Clyde W. Gabler, (Ret.) an intelligence officer in the 1st Fighter Group of the United States Army Air Corps during most of World War II. LTC Gabler was first commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Cavalry in the mid 1930's. In 1941, he transferred to the 1st Fighter Group's Intelligence Section where he worked until he was rotated back to the United States from occupied Italy in June 1944. LTC Gabler kept a running diary during the war, which formed the foundation for this autobiography.
