The development of the light-weight Bell XP-77 was initiated by the United States Army Air Corps. and was to have been built using "non-strategic" materials which were in short supply throughout most of World War II.  While this simplified, light weight fighter was innovative in concept it proved difficult to handle which resulted in the production of only two protoype aircraft.  The operational characteristics of this single engine, single place aircraft included the following: 1) Top speed of about 330 m.p.h.; 2) Combat range of approximately 550 miles and 3) Service Ceiling of just over 31,000 feet.  The armament for this aircraft was to include a combination of cannon and machine guns with provisions to carry a light bomb-load on external hard-points.  This limited run XP-77 Light Weight Fighter kit includes the following features: 1) Authentic United States Army Air Corps markings for two different aircraft; 2) Clear vacuform canopy; 3) Injection molded; 4) Nose wheel well detail; 5) Nose weight; 6) Recessed panel lines; 7) Three wheels and 8) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in mint condition.  Never started and factory sealed.
