The McDonnell-Douglas built A-4 M Skyhawk II, developed for the United States Marine Corps, is the most advanced variant in the A-4 family of aircraft. The M variant is fitted with a more powerful P & W J52-P-408A jet engine and possesses greater acceleration, straight-line speed and maneuverability when compared to its predecessor the A-4 F. The A-4 M Skyhawk's all-weather capabilities were improved by the installation of an inertial navigation system along with a larger windscreen and canopy. The A-4 M prototype made its first flight in April 1970 and production aircraft began entering service with VMA-324 in April 1971. The A-4 M Skyhawk has a top speed of 645 mph and carries two Mk. 12 20 mm cannons along with a maximum bomb-load of 9,195 pounds. The box is in new condition. Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
